This module, Representation and Text, focuses on how meaning is represented and how the medium, form, perspective and language devices of different texts affect the meaning they carry. The central focus is an understanding of the relationships between representation and meaning, the processes that construct and colour the text in the choices the composers have made. In Telling the Truth you are asked to look more specifically at the processes by which statements come to be presented and accepted as true.
This module, Representation and Text, requires the study of one prescribed text FRONTLINE, plus a selection of additional texts of your own choosing. These additional texts should provide a variety of representations of the idea and should be drawn from a variety of sources, in a range of audiences and media.
